Cambodia Gambling Dens
September 5th, 2021 by Iliana

There is an interesting story to the Cambodia gambling dens that sit just across the dividing line from nearby Thailand, where gambling hall gambling is not legal. Eight casinos are situated in a generally tiny location in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent destination, a 3 to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular wagering locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The amazing income accrued from the gambling dens ranges from seven and a half million dollars to more than 12.5 million, and there are a number of controls constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is required to be largely Thai; however, investment sources are cryptic. The borders are ceremoniously open from 09:00 to 17:00, and although visas are apparently required to pass, there are ways around this, as is real of many borders.

The 1st Cambodia gambling dens opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving just 1 casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked bateau gambling hall, features 150 slot machines and sixty gaming tables. The Naga gambling hall is open all day and night with 42 tables of mini-punto banco, 4 tables of blackjack, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long opened. There are one hundred and fifty slots and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machines and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 one armed bandits and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slots and 96 table games, including 87 baccarat chemin de fer (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 one armed bandits and sixty six of the normal gaming tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight gambling dens in Poipet, also in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-inclusive resort and hotel complex that contains a number of comforts aside from the gambling hall, which contains ten thousand sq.ft. of 130 slot machine games and eighty eight gaming tables.
